Boohoo, Literally

Top - H&m
Skirt - Boohoo (You can buy similar HERE)
Shoes - Fitflops

Hola a todos!
Just a short sweet post for you all, and a little throwback for me. As a classic Briton, I feel mentioning the weather in each blog posts is absolutely necessary. And as you've all probably noticed, the weather in England has been depressing this summer. Making it basically impossible to dress nicely, hence the lack of recent English posts from me!

So instead of thinking about that, here are some pictures of Barcelon-ian sights.
No panic if you're bored of my Barcelona-themed-posts, I will be posting Portugal-themed-posts following the next few weeks, lucky you eh!
Make sure to check out my loooooooovely photographer: Danie (instagram: @_luciaphotographyand be a total babe and give her follow and whatnot.

Sidenote, Gaudi was an architectural god and I'm in love with his work.
Enjoy!

Thanks for returning as always you lovely people, keep up to date by subscribing on the left by typing your email in. Or check the links at the end of each post. More posts are pending of course, so someone sort out the weather please so I can make that happen!

Also if you missed my last post, check out my online art shop and buy if you desire it will make me extremely happy *cheesy grin*

I'm Officially a Big-Cartel-er

Hiya All,
I am going to study fashion next year at Brighton and yes I am very excited, but materials and whatnot can be quite pricey. I've had a few offers over the years for paintings and illustrations I've been doing over the years so I thought what better way to fund my materials through uni than to sell things I draw?!

ANYWAY.
So I set up a little online shop over at Big Cartel, it would be absolutely fab if you could all check that out and share it among friends etc. Just click the below link for direct access into my wonderland, not a euphemism I promise.

And if you're insanely lazy here's a few screen shots so you know what you're getting into before you click that godly link...

So that's just a cheeky taster of what you can buy so far but I will be uploading a few more bits if it's successful. Please share this post as it would really help me out!

SHOW ME LOVE PEOPLE
Huge thank you if ya do!

Beach Blues

Dress - TK Maxx
Flipflops - Fit Flop

Hola readers!

So the weather has been a bit shitty, and following an extreeemely muddy weekend at Secret Garden Party, I felt it was time to bring some beachy vibes back into your life, and well.. into mine. Nothing cheers me up quite like looking through holiday photos and we took some beautiful ones in Barcelona so here they are! If you didn't check it out before, Danie (instagram: @_luciaphotography), my wonderful best friend AND incredible photographer has been shooting these past few posts, so have a look at her page and give it a follow.

I'm aware FitFlops are hilarious looking, but they are soo comfy and I don't care. Based on the insane views on my previous fitness post, small tip; these badboys have been the easiest way to tone my legs without having had the chance to go running or keep up with my normal regimes during the intense Barcelona heat. They actually have a 50% sale right now so I'd get in there before other fashionista's grab them all lmao.
I know summer brings that ridiculous stress to look perfect in a bikini but a lot of feeling good about yourself doesn't actually come from looking good. Not that I'm so great at it either, but it all starts with believing you look good and deserve to feel it! Blogging has been my outlet for that, finding a way to feel good about yourself whilst building your own confidence at the same time. Hope I've cheered up your rainy days and also you've enjoyed catching up!

Anyway, thanks for visiting elliemikaela as always, share and comment, it makes me extremely happy!!
Big loves and happy summer-ing!

Free Ya Nipples in Barcelona!

White Jeans - Mango
DIY Tie Top
Leather Backpack - Radley
Shoes - Superstars

Hiya all!
Welcome back to my blog, been a little absent recently but I thought I'd bring it all back with an extremely colourful post taken in the beautiful Barcelona!! Recently spent a week there and I have to say I completely fell in love with the place, from the Gothic Quarter to Park Guell. Everything about the city is incredible and I hope to live there one day. All photo's were taken by my extremely talented friend Dan (seen in pictures below). She's set up a photography instagram, her photographs are insane, will be well worth a follow. Search for @_luciaphotography to give her a look and a follow. All my links are at the end of each post so give each a follow too.

I love how when you go to other countries you can wear literally anything you want. The mixture of the hot weather and also removing the possibilities of running into everyone you know, makes dressing much more fun. So I thought I'd brave this (slightly) see-through little boobtube, at the time I was pretty unaware how see-through it was.. but hey! Free ya nips girls! This top was actually part of a dress that my friend cut in half, but I think it works pretty well like this. The tie-up-back is really pretty too, watch out for this style in every material I have now ha. Anyway, welcome to me tanned. Isn't it nice when the camera doesn't reflect off your skin and white out the photo? I believe so. I even wear white, how grown up is that?!

So that's it from me for the moment, I have quite a few more posts coming up so keep an eye out!
Love to all who read, make sure you return and bring friends!
Peace and love people xo

Red Velvet

Velvet Flares - Mums
Knitted Crop - Ebay
Red Shirt - Vintage
Trainers- Adidas Superstars
Sunglasses - La Moda

Hiya all,
Finally getting back into the swing of blogging, its only taken me about a year but oh well!

How beautiful are these flares, you don't have to agree.. I know they are. We've had them for years just chilling in a bag destined for a charity shop. They used to be my mums and Ive wanted to get them taken in for ages so i could wear them but I just decided to safety-pin them and it worked pretty well. I am officially a happy velvety bunny. Much like my vintage adidas silk trouser thingies, they're basically a socially acceptable trackybum. Which is beautiful because who can be bothered to look nice 24/7.

As you may have noticed if you follow my Instagram (elsmikaela) that red is my absolute favourite colour, its my confident colour I'd say. There is no way to fade into the background when wearing red, and I LUV-ET. I found this shirt in an old shop in Brick Lane last summer when I was interning and had been sent to brick lane to find samples. I may or may not have had a bit of a shop on the way, but lucky I did because I found this gem for only £3. And it is thuper cute. Obviously I had to tie it all together with some red lippy, this one is my favourite Mac matte in 'Russian Red' but as they are extremely drying I mix it with the Revlon 24hour balm thingy and its bless. No chapped lips for me.

Hopefully one day soon I will transition into an old lady and learn to crochet because these tops are so expensive?! I'm aware its a pretty long process but some of them are like £40.. For about 20cm of top. Ridiculous. Anyway this one was only about £16 which I was happy with. Shout out to eBay, you beautiful place.

I apologise for screw facing in every picture, its a failed attempt at smizing. I sadly am a victim of 'resting bitch face' and there is no cure.

THANKS FOR READING AS ALWAYS
You lot make me extremely happy!
Luv n hugs
<3

Grey Day Dressing

Grey Dress - H&m
Blue top - Mums
Cap - Gant
Trainers - Reebok
Hoops - Bastille Markets

Hiya all, it's been AGES since I last did a post, but I have luckily returned.

Apologies about the bunched top, the 'skirt' is actually a dress that I tried (and failed) to make into a skirt, which just ended up looking like I have 3 rows of boobs, but you can't have everything. Felt like going with a sassy chic look for this post, I'm really indulging in day dresses at the moment and I can't wait for maxi dress season. As we're stuck in the middle of spring and summer dressing is a little confusing as it looks way hotter than it actually is but I've found layering light layers is the best way around it. I don't feel quite ready for a huge amount of colour yet, after months of no sun I am almost sheer coloured. I just about managed to get my shins out and even that was a giant push. You can't actually see my feet very well in any of these images, but my trainers are green suede and of course red lips were a must so I wasn't completely grey.

Quick sidenote, my friend Sam just brought out his EP. Pretty similar vibes to Ben Howard or SBTRKT, so absolutely perfect for this weather!
I've linked my favourite song from it below so give him a follow, share and have a listen!

Thanks as always for reading beautiful people!
Subscribe, share and and leave me a comment if you wish, it would make me v v v happy if that persuades you.
Lots of sunshiney love

90's Baby

Leotard - Ebay - Similar
Dungaree's - River Island - Here
Superstars - Adidas Originals - Here
Jacket - The North Face - Similar

After being jokingly asked if I would do a blog post on this outfit last week at Uni, I decided to snap a few pics and do one. Unfortunately as I was rushing they came out a little noisy so I'm sorry about that and I cut out my face because I looked ugly, lol. I was feeling pretty down to my childhood in this, re-styling the kind of outfits I wore when I was a young'un. There's something so appealing about 90's generation's clothes, baggy and cute at the same time. Also who doesn't enjoy a dotty onesie?! This is pretty much my go-to when I have to leave my house, but can't be bothered to faff about. Especially now all the classics and originals are on trend with trainers, it's so easy to achieve and not too expensive. The coat is slightly pricey, but before my Dad handed it down to me he's used it for the last 10 years I think, so a worthwhile investment. I think half my wardrobe is other people's clothes.. But I am really okay with that.

I've made quite a dangerous habit of finding amaaaaaazing bargins on pretty much brand new trainers on Ebay, my haven. When I first started reading blogs, what I noticed was how great student bloggers were at finding deals and it helped me loads. So I'll try to include good ones that I see within future posts for you lot. A great Ebay tip if you're looking for big brands, is to use Goofbid. You can purposely search for misspelt words and such-like, because sometimes people that are really dim will misspell something and noone else will bid on it, so you get it really cheap. It is simply FAB.

Anyway this was just a short post for you all

Colour Blocking

Superstars - Adidas Originals - Here
Trousers  - Mango - Similar
Leotard - Ebay - Similar
Socks - La Moda - Here
Jacket - Was my dads so don't know soz

Was about to start this post with a comment about the weather, so typically British. But yeah! How nice is the weather right now!! I even whipped out the white trousers, Blue skies ya feel me!

You might notice (if you are really creepy and over-observant) that these are not the same Adidas Originals that I originally had. Nightmare involving that, but no-one panic for I have a new pair of babies. So in their honour, I decided to make a post dedicated to the monochrome.. well, colour blocking. Most of my looks tend to be pretty casual, but I was going on a gallery research day for uni, so needed extra comfy, meaning trainers. Can't lie, never actually worn these socks out, but they look sort of pretty, so I whipped them out for the pictures. Anyway back to the colour blocking, my dad gave me this jacket a while back and it is awesome. I might turn it inside out and remove the labels because the inside is major funk and the outside is kinda felty? You get the gist in the pics, it doesn't need much explaining. Oh and on the subject of galleries, if you can, book tickets for the Mcqueen exhibition at the V&A, it was breathtaking. And for the Time-Conflict at the Tate, although I think that ends really soon. They're both really worth seeing.

You ALSO might have noticed that I've had a bit of a play with the layout and features of le blog, So feel free to check that out if you so desire. I've included a 'You might enjoy' down the side of the popular posts of the week, v snazzy, go look. I got rid of the random bits that I decided looked ugly, I changed the font of my title AND I've linked the items I am wearing or similar next to where I got them. What a busy week it has been! Oh I also added a little subscribe box so you can enter your email and it will send you a cute little email when I upload a post so you will never miss one. NEAT YA. But what I actually really want is a header for 'elliemikaela' instead of a title, so if you know how to design one/will help me, PLEASE get in touch. You can click the contact me tab at the top of the page or use any of the links below!

Ta as always for reading you adorable bunch. Subscribe it will make me heppy.

Knits and Knee Highs

Knit - Mum's 'hand-me-down'
Suede Jacket - East End Thift Store (£1!!!!)
Knee Highs - Public Desire through Amazon

Hi all,
I know I haven't blogged for ages but now the majority of my ucas process is out of the way so I have a little more time which means I am back. Oh how I have missed you all... Welcome back me!

So I was riffling through my mums draws today (lol) to try and find an oversized jumper to wear with these boots to go out for lunch and I came across this beauty! I absolutely love it, the colours are great and I do love a good knit. There's actually a picture of her wearing this jumper when she's about 20 something in my house so I felt it was perfect to re-create. I bought these boots from Amazon over the Christmas holidays but I have hardly had a chance to wear them as it's been way too cold to do this and I think they look weird with midi dresses. Unfortunately, not being blessed with long legs tends to dictate what I wear shoes with. And as a true short person, these sorts of boots can only be worn with something big and smothering to balance them out. Ah, voila.. Big colourful knit. They are actually a little big for me, so I'm thinking about selling them to buy a new pair. If you like them and are a size 3/4 holla ya girl.

I'm a big believer in thift sales, whether you find something good (I always do) or not.. it normally costs the hefty £1 entry and the clothes are £1 each. They're always really grimy and in the oddest parts of London, but if you know one is happening near you they're worth going to. Actually on that note, I know the East End Thift Store is having one really soon, but for better updates than mine ha, just go follow their facebook page (click the above link for it). So anyway, I got this beautiful crushed suede jacket from one, real suede.. £1. Madness. The only issue is that it does smell like someone has died in it, but I am aiming to dry clean that out asap so I can wear it in public because I love it.

On that note, ta for visiting!
Big loves as always
Mis
