Knits and Knee Highs

Knit - Mum's 'hand-me-down'
Suede Jacket - East End Thift Store (£1!!!!)
Knee Highs - Public Desire through Amazon

Hi all,
I know I haven't blogged for ages but now the majority of my ucas process is out of the way so I have a little more time which means I am back. Oh how I have missed you all... Welcome back me!

So I was riffling through my mums draws today (lol) to try and find an oversized jumper to wear with these boots to go out for lunch and I came across this beauty! I absolutely love it, the colours are great and I do love a good knit. There's actually a picture of her wearing this jumper when she's about 20 something in my house so I felt it was perfect to re-create. I bought these boots from Amazon over the Christmas holidays but I have hardly had a chance to wear them as it's been way too cold to do this and I think they look weird with midi dresses. Unfortunately, not being blessed with long legs tends to dictate what I wear shoes with. And as a true short person, these sorts of boots can only be worn with something big and smothering to balance them out. Ah, voila.. Big colourful knit. They are actually a little big for me, so I'm thinking about selling them to buy a new pair. If you like them and are a size 3/4 holla ya girl.

I'm a big believer in thift sales, whether you find something good (I always do) or not.. it normally costs the hefty £1 entry and the clothes are £1 each. They're always really grimy and in the oddest parts of London, but if you know one is happening near you they're worth going to. Actually on that note, I know the East End Thift Store is having one really soon, but for better updates than mine ha, just go follow their facebook page (click the above link for it). So anyway, I got this beautiful crushed suede jacket from one, real suede.. £1. Madness. The only issue is that it does smell like someone has died in it, but I am aiming to dry clean that out asap so I can wear it in public because I love it.

On that note, ta for visiting!
Big loves as always
Mis

Transitional Wear

 Grey Maxi Dress - H&m
Cardigan - Primark
Rucksack - Radley

Hiya everyone,
Back to the old style of posts, I keep finding new places around to shoot that don't involve me stepping outside!! This is a cosy number, long knitted layers. Perfect transition from winter to spring as it isn't too thick, but the long sleeve-ness is warm. Went hand in hand with my new-ish cardigan that turned out to be a pretty good investment, it goes with everything and I'm not bored of it yet so expect it in many more posts to come. This dress is basically a reaally long, long sleeved t-shirt, and it's not too tight which means you can sit down and eat in it without fear of looking pregnant and/or feeling uncomfortable. I bought this the other day online, and it arrived a few days ago. Due to clearing out my old stuff on ebay (elsmis2010 if you have a burning desire to buy it)  I have a few extra coins meaning I can online shop. Yay. When I bought this, I didn't think it through at all and well.. when it turned up I realised that I was a lot shorter than the model (duh) and that it is actually not a midi dress.. but more a maxi. Lucky I like it anyway because returning things online is an absolute nightmare. Recently returned my superstars because they were faulty and it has been the biggest headache, honestly I would rather trek to a store than go through that again. I seem to be going through a bit of a monochrome phase, so to lighten it up I added in a dark red lip liner, literally superdrugs own make but it's awesome and I'm pretty sure it cost me £1.

Anyway, the ucas dread isn't over yet. *drastically rolls eyes* so this is where I shall leave this post.

Slender Loading

Slender Shake Slendertoxtea

BEFORE

AFTER

First Day
Like most people, January comes around and everyone panics about the immense amount of weight they put on over Christmas, but by March gym's are empty and people forget to keep up with things. What better way to end the Christmas holidays than with a top diet plan, now I'm not one for extremely dieting. I eat relatively healthy and I exercise a normal amount (50 odd sit ups daily and run twice a week) but Slendertoxtea sent me this 14 day once a day meal replacement thingy so I thought I'd give it a go! I know how much pressure there is on girls of my age to look perfectly slim with just the right amount of curves, and it affects the majority of us even if we don't like to admit to it. Normally I wouldn't get so personal on this, but the reason I took this challenge was because I wasn't happy with how I looked and there is no loss in trying it. At the end of the day, you only look as good as you feel, and I started this blog to grow my confidence, and grow it shall! *she states eating a bowl of pick'n'mix'*

The pictures above were all taken before I started the detox, as you can see I was about to go for a run, hence make-up-less (Be nice). This is the kind of product I've always looked at but never known whether to try or not, purely because I assumed it was completely chemical and to be honest that makes me uncomfortable, who knows what you're putting in your system. But after reading the ingredients, I found out this was completely natural, mainly berries, almond milk extracts, etc. Pretty much the powder version of the super-foods like kale. Fab.

I assume much like any diet change, that without healthy activities like a normal amount of sleeping and exercise these things are pretty temporary, but I'd say it hopefully will help me control my eating habits a bit better. As this is a process, I am writing this post throughout updating as I go.

10 Days In
So I am now halfway through my shake-detox and I'd say It's going okay, had a little hiccup in the middle as I had my cousins 21st but what can you do, life goes on! Therefore, I am not counting the past 3 days as I couldn't have the shake, so soz.

My only issue I've found is that because the drink is so liquid-y, it doesn't do much to fill you up. This might be because I'm doing it wrong, I have a feeling you're meant to have more than 1 scoop of the powder with double the amount of liquid, but oh well. Major upside is that it tastes really nice (sort of like strawberry nesquik) But as I am intolerant to a ridiculous majority of foods, I have been mixing it with almond milk, which isn't as pleasurable as you would think. Downing a glass of that at 6am most days, heaven. However, it does say you can mix it with things like yogurt and fruit etc but I don't have that much time in the morning so I haven't had the chance to experiment yet.

Finished
So I have ended my "14" day shake slender challenge, and I'd say I have lost a little bit of weight, it isn't crazy-noticable, but I think that's due to the lack of exercise I've been able to fit in (It's ucas deadline time at the mo, time is a-tickin) I know I look mad awkward, I'm just not used to taking pics in my gym wear lol. I have quite a lot of the powder left so I will carry on doing it for a while, might as well finish it. Hopefully when I have more time I can try it with some other ingredients, like mixing it with a smoothie, or greek yogurt or something, probably a healthier way to start the day than a tiny glass of almond milk. Honestly, although I think these things do work, I assume as soon as I go back to a normal diet the weight will come back too. With these sort of things the lost weight is more water weight loss than any other.

Anyway, a huge thank you for sending me this you lovely people of Slendertoxtea, I know this isn't a regular post I'd do but I hope it was as enjoyable as tha norm! Comment below and subscribe if you so desire.
