Lobster Darling

Dress - China
Harriet Bag - La Moda
Shoes - La Moda
Socks - eBay
Earrings - Forever21

Hola!
I know it's been a while but I've been crazy busy with uni stuff and haven't have aaaaaany time to give this blog some TLC, but HEY I am back, aaand with an 'ootd'... what could be better?!
Nothing. Nothing is the answer.

This outfit is a couple weeks old from my friend Funke's birthday dinner at the Lobster and Burger, but I really liked it so I thought it deserved a post. I won these La Moda goodies in their instagram competition which was so fab and they have quickly become my favourite shoes, so so comfortable and they make me the much less adorable, however much more normal height of 5'6" which is just fab. If you want to check out the original blog post I did about the things I won, click here, the magic link will take you there people.

I never really was into the oversized bag thing as carrying something on my arm always seemed pointless and annoying, but now I have one it's a whoooole new story. This one has a long strap for your shoulder so no awkward arm, and ever since my prom dress I've decided red is the ultimate colour, so choosing which bag I wanted was easy. As you'll probably notice if you keep up with my posts it is quite rare for me not to wear this sort of jewellery, so of course I am armored with over-sized earrings, a classic move. Although I am constantly torn between hoops and chandelier style, and after leaving my favourite hoops on a train *cries* I've resorted back to big and bold.

Anyway, as previously said in a million blog posts, China is bae. Especially China on eBay.................or eBAE, if you know what I mean.

You don't know what you're missing out on until you enter the Asian shopping world on eBay, you can literally buy ANYTHING. From a whole lace catsuit to toilet supplies, it's great. Not that I buy either of those things.. but you follow my point. I've worn this dress every way it could possibly be worn, from clubbing to beach wear to dinner to casual, love me a bit of versatile clothing. I can already tell you're desperate to see this worn another way, have no fear my lovely reader, just click this cute little link.

If you've never been to this restaurant, you should. It was epic. I have never had lobster 'whole' before and they literally bring you a lobster (dead) on a plate. [See above picture] with garlic butter, the buffest chips and a salad. You even get a bib (cute) and a little hand wipe (uber cute). You know that scene in 'When Harry Met Sally'... I was Sally in this moment. And trust me you want what I had. Although saying that, using those plier thingy's in a public place was a nightmare, lobster was literally flying everywhere. Lil' bit of advice, don't take someone on a date there, it's very messy. And not in the sexy way.

Anywho!
As always, thanks for stopping by, any support is extremely welcome.

Chinese Beauties

Dress/Jumper - China <3 but eBay, link HERE
Belt - Vintage
Lace Bralette - Calvin Klein
Shoes - Boohoo
Earrings - Spanish Markets
Necklace - 18th bday pres, will find out and get back to you
Clutch - Fiorelli
Hair Donut  - Primark

Seeing as all of my outfits are daytime and casual, I thought I would spice it up a bit and do an evening look. No not quite black tie, but I can't say that's a look many people ever need to wear. So this beauty only £5.95 from Chinese eBay including postage?!?!?! is so so comfy, possibly greatest buy ever?
The best part about buying random stuff from Chinese eBay is that even if it looks awful, at the end of the day it probably only cost £5 and you can sell it on Depop for £20... Not that I do that.
My depop is here btw, check me out.

Boohoo have the most brilliant collection of heels for very reasonable prices, these despite being 6.5 inches are extremely comfortable, not that I can walk in them but whatever. They look good.

This necklace is the sweetest thing, my mum's best friend got it for me for my 18th last September and it is just beautiful. Do you remember when we were little and we all bought those quartz stones - like this

Well the necklace is simply one of those spray painted gold on a long chain, and it is soooo pretty. I know you aren't meant to mix silver and gold jewellery, but my gold version of the earrings I am wearing have lost 1 earring, so alas.. stuck with silver.

Safe my lovelies

Baggy Shorts and a Little Feminism

Tie-Dye T - DIY Cropped (you can tell) but used to be GAP (cool)
Shorts - Champion Tennis Shorts... Mens
Bodychain - eBay
Sunglasses - Primark
Necklace - Israel

I've been noticing a lot of 'androgynous' outfits recently and I thought I would jump on the bandwagon and post about one of my own. Androgynous, literally meaning a male with female characteristics and vice versa, has always been present on the catwalk, but is recently becoming part of high street fashion. The Style goes both ways, with Burberry recently flaunting the more chiseled masculine look of Nina Porter on the runway whilst using the extremely feminine Rosie Huntington-Whitely in their beauty campaigns.
Even Vivienne Westwood played with the idea, by putting red lipstick on all her male models at Milan Fashion week. H&M too, decided to launch a unisex 'Fashion Against AIDS' campaign, showing how the disease affects both sexes. Other brands include Wild Fang, one of the 'Top 10 Androgynous Clothing Lines' and Boohoo who made a video to promote theirs:

Anyway, this post was actually inspired by a Blogger called Mika Francis, who posted on a similar topic. (click on her name to see her post) and my friend Ruby, and her blog 'Rubyccino'
But aside from the feminism inspo, feminism, cross dressing and unisex styling is something designers and high street makes have always taken interest in. And now me.

I wouldn't say I am especially interested in Politics as a whole, but after reading so much about women's politics and rights around the time of the local elections I have become much more involved. In particular, the issue of/surrounding feminism. One article I read that was on a group of 16-18 girls really shocked me, it is quite disgusting that in the 21st Century people still don't think its acceptable for women to voice their opinions on matters such as rights and sexuality, worth a read- (feminism). The twitter trending hashtag #yesallwomen opened my eyes to very mundane things women worldwide do that belittles themselves and women around them to satisfy peers and male attention. Like covering up to avoid wold whistles, or telling someone that you have a boyfriend, because everyone knows a man will respect another male's "possesion" more than they respect the woman's disinterest in them.

So anyway, as I casually chilled in this the other day. I thought to myself; this outfit is so 'summer androgynous' and I think it's almost acceptable to wear out, although maybe more beachwear than dining. I know the shorts aren't unisex, they are just men's, but they are so comfy and the perfect balance of boys for girls. This body-chain will be my muse for the summer, it is so tacky n I love it, eBay sell them from china for like £1, you can actually make them yourself, but when they're that cheap it seems pointless to waste time trying to DIY it.

Although I am all for 'dressing for yourself', when wearing something baggy and 'androgynous' I think it will always work best with something dainty and cute, like this crop. I know the sewing looks messy but it actually isn't, I hemmed it and everything. You know when you wear something and it stretches and then looks 'off' well that's what happened, but after wearing this outfit all day I didn't it was worth washing purely for the post, soz.

ANYWAY
